A 58-year-old man is set to face a murder charge at Thames Magistrates’ Court after a fatal stabbing at a residential property in east London. Eugeniu Neamtu, of Westbury Road in Walthamstow, was charged following the death of a man in his 60s on the evening of Friday 20 February. A Kent village has been left dealing with two separate water supply failures in less than 24 hours, with residents in Pembury experiencing disruption both overnight on Saturday and again into Sunday. An 18-year-old man has died following a collision between a car and a van in north London. The victim passed away on Saturday, 8 November, two days after the crash on Ferny Hill in Enfield. He had been travelling in a car with two other teenage boys when the incident occurred at 11.40pm. According to the Metropolitan Police, one of the other teenagers sustained life-changing injuries, while the second suffered non-life-changing injuries. A large fire has broken out at Queens Road Peckham railway station in south London, forcing the closure of the station and disrupting train services. Video footage shared on social media showed flames and thick black smoke rising into the night sky above the station. Thameslink confirmed services were unable to run through the affected area. Writing on X, the train operator stated: “Services are currently unable to run through Queens Road Peckham and this station is closed.” Passengers were advised to seek alternative routes to complete their journeys whilst the incident was ongoing.
Detectives have issued an appeal for information after a woman was sexually assaulted on a tram travelling through south London. The incident occurred at approximately 3.40pm on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, during a journey from West Croydon to Blackhorse Lane tram stop. According to British Transport Police, a man seated next to the victim carried out the assault whilst the tram was in service.
