Detectives investigating a fatal knife attack in Brent are urgently seeking CCTV and dashcam footage from residents as they work to identify a suspect following Wednesday evening’s killing.
The victim, a 33-year-old man whose identity has not yet been formally established, was discovered with stab wounds inside a property on Manor Park Road after emergency services responded to reports shortly after 18:05 on 11 February.
Homicide Command investigators are conducting enquiries alongside local officers from the North West Command Unit, with no arrests made in the hours following the attack. A crime scene remains secured at the location while forensic teams gather evidence.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, the senior officer overseeing policing in the area, confirmed authorities are treating the incident as isolated and have deployed additional patrol units throughout surrounding neighborhoods. He stated that officers recognize the likely concern within the local community following the fatal violence.
The appeal for digital evidence forms a critical component of the investigation, with detectives specifically requesting that anyone living in or around Manor Park Road examine their security cameras and vehicle recording equipment for potentially relevant material. Such footage could prove vital in establishing the movements of individuals before and after the stabbing occurred.
London Ambulance Service crews worked at the scene attempting to save the victim’s life, but medical teams were unable to prevent his death despite their efforts. The man was pronounced deceased at the address where he sustained his injuries.
Police are currently undertaking the process of informing the victim’s next of kin before formal identification procedures can be completed. This notification work represents a standard but sensitive phase of homicide investigations, ensuring family members learn of the death through proper channels before public identification occurs.
DCS Williams emphasized that the victim’s loved ones remain foremost in investigators’ thoughts during this period. He encouraged residents experiencing anxiety about the incident to engage with neighborhood policing teams, who have been made available to provide community reassurance and support throughout the investigation.
The North West Command Unit has positioned local officers to address public concerns and maintain visible presence in the area while specialist homicide detectives pursue investigative leads. This dual approach aims to both advance the criminal inquiry and maintain community confidence in the wake of serious violence.
Witnesses or anyone possessing information relevant to the case can contact the Metropolitan Police by calling 101 and providing the reference number CAD6284/11FEB when speaking with operators. This code ensures details reach the correct investigation team handling the murder probe.
The investigation continues as detectives work to establish circumstances surrounding the attack and identify those responsible for the fatal stabbing.
