A 34-year-old from Loose has been imprisoned following discoveries made during a disturbance call that led police to his rear garden structure last summer.
Detective Constable Rohan Gupte described how Jake Everts operated from his own property, believing the location would shield him from detection. Officers arrived at the Hubbards Lane address around noon on 22 July 2025 responding to reported trouble.
The sentence handed down on 15 January 2026 at Maidstone Crown Court came after Everts entered guilty pleas to charges involving class A and class B substances with intent to supply, plus possession of criminal property.
During the property examination, police located cocaine and cannabis alongside approximately £25,000 in currency, scales, and money counting equipment within the garden shed. All items were confiscated and Everts was taken into custody immediately.
Officers heard a mobile phone ringing from outside the structure during their search. Authorities believe the device had been thrown through the window in an attempt at concealment, as it contained additional evidence linking Everts to supply activity.
Detective Constable Gupte noted Everts’ surprise when police appeared at his residence, saying the accused tried unsuccessfully to hide proof of illegal operations that were readily apparent to responding officers.

Kent police pledged continued proactive enforcement against drug supply networks operating within the county, with authorities pursuing both criminal convictions and asset seizures from proceeds gained through unlawful activity. The three-year-six-month prison term marks the conclusion of prosecution proceedings against Everts.
