A 43-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of her newborn daughter after the baby fell from a residential property in central London.
Emergency services were called to Horseferry Road, Westminster, at around 7:30am on Saturday after reports that an infant had fallen from height. The baby, just 18 days old, was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.
Zahira Byjaouane, of Horseferry Road, was charged with murder the following day and has been remanded in custody. She is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The investigation is being led by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command.
