No arrests had been made as of January 20, 2026. Police have cordoned off Peacock Wood, Wild Wood Adventure, and the Lido Road car park end as the investigation continues.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Andy Jenkins said: “Our investigation is still in its early stages, and we are urgently looking to speak to anyone with any information that may assist our enquiries.”
He added: “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim at this desperately sad time.”
The victim’s family has been notified and is receiving support from officers.
Appeal for Witnesses
Surrey Police are appealing for anyone who was in the Lido Road, Parkway, and Stoke Park area between 6pm and 6.20pm on January 19 to come forward.
Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity or anyone running from the woods during that timeframe.
Detective Superintendent Jenkins said: “I know there will be a lot of concern and speculation in the local community… Our officers are working around the clock to… bring those responsible to justice.”
Anyone with information, no matter how small, is asked to contact Surrey Police quoting reference PR/45260006995.
