A 43-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital after a collision between a bus and a cyclist in Beckton, east London, with detectives now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
The crash took place on Atlantis Avenue at around 17:51 on Tuesday 10 March. Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived alongside London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. The cyclist was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The bus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. No arrests have been made.
The investigation is being led by the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Detective Inspector Mark Braithwaite said the inquiry is ongoing and urged anyone who witnessed the crash but has not yet spoken to police to come forward as soon as possible. Officers are particularly keen to obtain dashcam footage or any CCTV that may have captured the incident.
