An 18-year-old has been stabbed to death at a residential address in Hammersmith, with a man currently under arrest in hospital in connection with the killing.
Police were called to Lena Gardens at just before 6pm on Sunday evening, where officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics arrived to find two men with stab wounds. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man in his 30s was taken to hospital, where he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in a stable condition and will be taken into police custody upon discharge.
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday.
Detectives are treating the incident as isolated, with police believing the two men were known to each other. A crime scene remains in place at Lena Gardens, and residents can expect an increased police presence in the area in the coming days.
Superintendent Pali Grewal, who leads neighbourhood policing in Hammersmith and Fulham, encouraged local residents to approach officers directly with any concerns.
A murder investigation is now underway. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 5093/15MAR, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
