An 18-year-old man has died following a collision between a car and a van in north London.
The victim passed away on Saturday, 8 November, two days after the crash on Ferny Hill in Enfield. He had been travelling in a car with two other teenage boys when the incident occurred at 11.40pm.
According to the Metropolitan Police, one of the other teenagers sustained life-changing injuries, while the second suffered non-life-changing injuries. The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, also sustained non-life-changing injuries. All four were taken to hospital following the collision.
No arrests have been made as the investigation continues. The Met Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.
Detective Constable Pauline Redmond from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our investigation into the collision continues to establish the events which led to the death of an 18-year-old man.”
She added: “We hope we can bring a measure of comfort to his family and loved ones by understanding exactly what happened. Our thoughts continue to be with everyone impacted by this tragic incident.”
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage from motorists who were using the road at the time of the crash.
Detective Constable Redmond said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area on the night of the incident to come forward. We understand there were other vehicles using the road at that time who may have dash cam footage or further information which could aid our investigation. We urge them to contact us as soon as possible.”
The victim’s family is being supported by specialist officers.
