Two men have been charged by the Metropolitan Police in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old man shot in Clapham last September, with both due to appear in court on Friday.
Kyrone Moodie was fatally wounded after officers were called to reports of a shooting on New Park Road shortly before 9pm on 8 September 2025. Despite the efforts of paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, who treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital, Mr Moodie died the following day. A second man, aged 20, was also injured in the incident.
What the charges set out
The charges follow arrests made over two consecutive days this week. A 20-year-old man was detained at an address in Lambeth on Wednesday, 23 April on suspicion of murder, while a 31-year-old was held the following day on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both were charged on Thursday.
Moureik Ebanks, 20, of Saints Close, Lambeth, has been charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a firearm. Rushaune Davis, 31, of Brixton Road, Lambeth, has been charged with perverting the course of justice. Both men remain in custody and are scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 24 April.
A long-running investigation nears its next stage
The inquiry has been led by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, the unit responsible for investigating the capital’s most serious violence. More than seven months have passed between the shooting and the charging decisions announced this week — a timeline that reflects the painstaking nature of firearms investigations, where forensic analysis, digital evidence and witness accounts typically take months to assemble.
The Metropolitan Police has said that specialist officers continue to support Mr Moodie’s family as proceedings move forward.
