Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenager in south London are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage a week on from the attack, as no arrests have yet been made.
The 18-year-old was stabbed on Rye Lane in Peckham, near the junction with Heaton Road, at around 7pm on Saturday 14 February. Officers and paramedics from both the London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended the scene and provided emergency treatment before the teenager was taken to hospital, where he later died.
Police have released footage of the victim riding his moped on the evening of the attack as part of efforts to jog the memories of anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
Detective Inspector Christina Clayton, from the Met’s Specialist Crime unit, said Rye Lane was a busy, densely populated area and appealed directly to residents, drivers and public transport users who were in the area between 6pm and 7:30pm that evening. She also called on anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage from that window to come forward, adding that even seemingly minor details could prove significant to the investigation.
