Detectives have issued an appeal for information after a woman was sexually assaulted on a tram travelling through south London.
The incident occurred at approximately 3.40pm on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, during a journey from West Croydon to Blackhorse Lane tram stop. According to British Transport Police, a man seated next to the victim carried out the assault whilst the tram was in service.
Officers have now released CCTV images of a man they believe may hold vital information to assist their investigation.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed the details of the attack. “Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a tram from West Croydon to Blackhorse Lane tram stop have released these CCTV images in connection,” the spokesperson said.

“On Wednesday 22 October 2025 at around 3.40pm a man sexually assaulted a woman sat next to him on the tram.”
The force is urging anyone who recognises the individual pictured to come forward. Witnesses or those with information are asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 476 of 22 October.
