Three officers were left injured after a suspected stolen vehicle collided with a police car during a pursuit in east London, with the driver fleeing the scene and remaining at large.
The incident took place on Mungo Park Road in Rainham at around 4:40pm on Friday 13 February. Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command had begun pursuing a grey Vauxhall Astra after the driver failed to stop and started driving erratically. The vehicle struck several other cars during the chase before ramming the police vehicle directly.
Two male officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command and one female officer from the North Area Command Unit were assessed at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics. None of the injuries are believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
The driver did not remain at the scene. The Vauxhall Astra was found abandoned nearby shortly afterwards. No arrests have been made.
Detectives are now appealing to the public for help identifying those responsible. Acting Detective Sergeant Michael Carroll, who is leading the investigation, said officers are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam recordings or CCTV footage from businesses in the area that may have captured the pursuit or collision.
